Commuter guidance
Which ride to take, and when.
Later update
We're building the traffic system first. Guidance for jeepney and PUV passengers comes in a later update, from the same live picture the city sees.
Why it matters
A traffic scheme that took effect on July 28, 2026 requires provincial public utility vehicles to end trips at designated terminals instead of entering the city center (GMA Regional TV). A municipal league leader reported that some commuters now take up to three rides to reach their destination (Daily Tribune, September 25, 2026).
What we plan to build
- Ride recommendations: which public transport to take for a destination, based on current conditions
- A live traffic report in plain language for the Divisoria area
- Easing nudges: when a spot is congested, a different boarding point or departure time
- Disruption alerts for floods, blockages and events
A hypothesis, not a promise
Whether nudges ease congestion is something we want to test in a pilot. We aren't claiming it works. We start with pilot corridors and hand-built route data, and commuters would see the same data the city side sees, so the city can respond to how demand shifts.
